Reaction Paper: Sandra Carrion

so its been awhile since Sandra Carrion came to our class to speak but im finally getting around to writing my reaction paper.
well the first thing i would like to say is that i was very interested in what she was saying and found it to be very informative. i actually wasnt really sure what a fine art photographer was so i was happy to find out what it was, and am now very interested in learning more about it. a fine art photographer shoots pictures to fulfill their own creative vision, this is the same reason in am interested in photography and take pictures myself so becoming a fine art photographer is a career path that i plan in learning more about and keeping it in mind regarding my own career path. there was only one thing i wasnt happy to hear, which is something that i have been hearing alot of, and that is that you will need another job.
another thing i was interested in hearing about was the HDR process. it was really nice to see an actual example of it since i havent before, and now that ive seen them, im pretty amazed. the pictures she showed us look so real and almost 3D like. after seeing them i looked up how to make pictures like that and tried it out using photoshop and it work out =//
i also really liked how she showed us the pictures and had us try and guess which pictures made it to the end. i was really surprised at some that were and some that werent. it makes me understand that just because a picture doesnt make it to the end doesnt mean its bad, and it makes me realize how hard it would be to be successful in a competition.
another thing that i really liked hearing about and looking at was the little plastic cameras and the pictures she took with them. i remember awhile ago getting a magazine in the photo seminar class and there was an article in it about the old little plastic cameras like that holga, and since then i have been wanting one really badly. i remember one picture she had that was a double exposure at a cemetery that i really liked. i noticed there were these little red spots on the picture that she said was from light leaks in the camera and i thought they looked really cool.
